Scientific researchers of Banna botanical garden attend the first China biogeography Conference
From September 14 to 15, the first China biogeography conference was held in Beijing. Focusing on the theme of "progress and Prospect of biogeography in China", this conference contains frontier and hot issues in the field of biogeography. The conference summarized and exchanged the new achievements of theories, methods and technologies in various branches of biogeography in China in recent years; This paper discusses the global significance of biogeography in China and its important role in biodiversity conservation, utilization of biological resources and environmental management in the context of global change; This paper analyzes the characteristics of biogeography in China, and promotes the development of biogeography in China. A total of seven people from Banna botanical garden attended the conference. Among them, the topic of "East Asian biogeographical pattern and evolution" jointly organized by researcher Xing Yaowu and researcher Wang Wei of Beijing Institute of Botany attracted the attention of many academic colleagues. The participants had a heated discussion on the evolution of East Asian flora, the formation of plant diversity and other hot issues. Researcher Zhu Hua, researcher Xing Yaowu and doctoral student Zhang Qiuyue respectively discussed the origin of Hainan Island, the origin and evolution of alpine plant diversity in Hengduanshan, and long-distance diffusion or land bridge propagation—— Taking Juglandaceae as an example, we made a wonderful report on the topic of "integrated biogeography research of molecules and fossils", which received extensive attention and heated discussion, further deepened the exchange and cooperation between researchers of Banna botanical garden and their counterparts in the field of biogeography in China, and enhanced the influence of Banna Botanical Garden in the field of biogeography.
